This semester, I have been completing an internship in a first grade classroom at Newberry Elementary School. Additionally, I am working toward an ESOL Endorsement by volunteering extra hours in an ESOL classroom at Westwood Middle School. 

     In Newberry, I have been given the freedom to generate original lessons designed to target Florida's Sunshine State Standards. This experience has grown my confidence in both planning and leading instruction, as well as in behavior management. 

     At Westwood Middle School, my experience with students for whom English is a Second Language (ESOL) has grown immensely. Rather than working solely with Spanish-speaking students as I have in the past, I have had the chance to lead lessons in which the language barrier is more multidimensional (between more than five native languages).
